"Help local families in need." That line sits on the homepage of Seven Lakes Golf Club, next to a cart-path update and a tee-time button. Below it is a note that the Seven Lakes Women's Golf Association has set up a food drive collection area in the clubhouse lobby.
The club is 50 this year. On July 25, The Pilot listed the Grey Abbey Band on the back patio to mark the anniversary, with guests asked to bring their own chairs. The club's next stretch is the busiest on the Seven Lakes calendar, and the food drive bin points to how it works. Between November 5 and December 21, almost every public date in Seven Lakes asks you to bring something: a toy, canned goods, a children's book, a pint of blood, a pot of chili. Plan the season around those asks and the dates sort themselves out.
Most of the holidays here run through two buildings, the golf club on East Devonshire Avenue and the North Clubhouse. On ordinary weeks, the golf club carries the routine.
Southside Bar & Grill, the club's restaurant, posts lunch daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and dinner Thursday through Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The menu covers burgers, cheesesteaks, salads and fish, with a salad bar at dinner. The sample lunch menu adds nachos, wings, smash burgers, a ribeye sandwich and shrimp tacos. Call 910-673-1100 to confirm service before you go, especially around the holidays.
Two weekly standing events keep going through the season:
The cart paths have also been getting attention. The club's homepage says crews are working on cart-path renovations through the end of October, with the course open during the work and the 90-degree rule in effect. The club calls itself one of the few courses in the Pinehurst area that still has bent grass greens, and its tee times are listed as "open to all players," bookable online or at 910-673-1092.
The first ask comes on Thursday, November 5, at 2 p.m., when Women of Seven Lakes meets at The Chapel in the Pines, 581 Seven Lakes Drive. Ciara Sheerin of 7 Sparrows will speak about hunger and other needs affecting local community members. The group is collecting new, unwrapped toys for children at that meeting. Its 2026–2027 calendar says gifts for teens are especially needed, and gift cards are welcome too.
If 7 Sparrows is new to you, The Seven Lakes Insider profiled it in April 2025. The profile describes a donation-based boutique Sheerin founded, which gives donated household goods, clothing, food, toys and baby supplies free to people in need. It also runs a food pantry, and visits are by appointment.
The next three days come quickly:
The middle of the month is quieter for anyone who doesn't play. The Member/Member tournament runs November 14 and 15, and as the name says, it is for members. Superintendent's Revenge follows on Saturday, November 21. Every membership level includes member tournaments, which require a GHIN handicap, along with tee times bookable two weeks out and range privileges. If you don't play in member events, those weekends are a good time to drop food at the lobby bin.
This is the season in one view, sorted by what goes in your car.

December starts at the golf club with the WGA Christmas Jingle on Tuesday, December 1.
On Thursday, December 3, Women of Seven Lakes opens its meeting with Bella Voce, a women's ensemble directed by Dr. Michal Martin, director of choirs at Pinecrest High School. Then Sarah Reagan, owner of Salty Boards, demonstrates how she builds charcuterie boards, with samples for members and guests. The meeting costs $5, and the group is collecting new preschool books for local daycares.
Two days later comes the group's biggest fundraiser. The Annual Holiday Pancake Breakfast runs Saturday, December 5, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the North Side Clubhouse, with Santa and Mrs. Claus there for the children. Breakfast and raffle tickets are sold online through the group's ticket page. Setup is the day before, and the calendar links sign-up sheets for both volunteers and food supplies.
For a holiday-lights evening without driving yourself, the same group has a Sandhills Trolley outing on Saturday, December 12. The Tinsel Town Lights plus Pop-up Market tour runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and costs $41. Riders meet at 5:45 p.m. at the Harris Teeter in Taylortown, 305 Ivey Lane, Pinehurst. The calendar warns that the tour sells out quickly, and tickets are sold through Sandhills Trolley.
The golf club closes its anniversary year with Santa's Scramble on Monday, December 21. The club's listing invites players to join. The fee was still marked "coming soon" when the calendar was posted, so call the pro shop before you build a foursome.
One more ask runs underneath all of this. Women of Seven Lakes is selling holiday flowers through a Flower Power fundraising shop from October 16 through December 31, so a holiday flower order placed in November also supports the group.
The SLWGA bin sits in the clubhouse lobby, the toy collection is at The Chapel in the Pines on November 5, and the pancakes go on at the North Side Clubhouse at 8 a.m. on December 5.
